Today Year 6 had a jam-packed World War II themed Creative Day with lots of engaging activities to learn more about what life would have been like during this time. In the morning, the children learned about the crucial role that the RAF played during World War II and created their own Spitfire plane designs. They had the opportunity to explore the fashion during the 1940s and created a wardrobe suitable for any occasion! Following on from this, the children chose which aspect of wartime they would like to further explore; some children used their code breaking skills to crack Morse code, others constructed their own gas mask boxes while some designed a new medal for those who defended their country on D-Day!
