On Tuesday after school, Year 6 played a league football match at home against Potley Hill Primary School. After a long winter break, the team was raring to go and it was an exciting match! With the game underway, both teams had shots that went wide of the mark, however Potley were keeping possession and breaking through our defence with more attacking chances. Their determination paid off as they scored a great goal halfway through the first half. With challenges and tackles flying in, the first half ended 1-0 to Potley. After a brief team talk and a couple of substitutions, Westfields were dominant in the second half with 3 great chances. Our luck held and we scored a super goal with a fantastic cross in by Jack, poached at the far post by Freddie, who simply tapped it in. With the game entering it’s dying minutes, Westfields had a free kick just outside the box that curled agonisingly wide. The final score was honours shared at  1-1. Well played boys, a great game!
