On Wednesday, Year 5 suited and booted in their authentic Viking costumes arrived in school feeling very excited about what was in store for them in our Anglo-Saxon Creative Day. Over the course of the day, every pupil participated in three historical themed activities: making a helmet for battle with Mr Chaplin, crafting Anglo-Saxon jewellery with Mrs Wilson and cooking up some delicious oatmeal cakes and berry jam with Miss Taylor. In the afternoon Year 5 then shared a Viking saga, Thor and the Ice Giants (read by Mrs Wilson!) whilst seated around a fire pit to add to the atmospheric experience! What a wonderful day bringing history alive, well done to all of the children who participated so enthusiastically. Mr Chaplin
