Today we took the time to appreciate how lucky we are to have clean running water! The whole school arrived this morning dressed in blue and made donations for this worthy charity.   In assembly and some lessons over the course of our special day, our pupils learnt about issues faced by communities across the world who do not have access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, and how the money we raise can make a difference.

Did you know… Around the world, 1 in 10 children do not have clean water and 1 in 3 do not have a decent toilet. For them, it is normal to have to walk to a muddy pond to collect water. It is normal to miss lessons because they are sick from drinking this dirty water. Also, it is normal to have to go to the toilet in the school grounds, with no privacy. We want to help Water Aid change this.

Throughout the day, we made our pledges as to how we can save water in Britain, looking after our oceans and clean our hands correctly.  We appreciate your support in helping us raise an impressive £322.90 today and hope all the children had fun.
