Our Year 5 Apps for Good finalists attended the Apps for Good National Awards event in London on Wednesday. As I am sure you are already aware, the Apps for Good Awards are an annual competition to showcase some of the best apps created by student teams of all ages from across the UK. The children spent a memorable day in London with Miss Startup & Mrs Penfold and visited the Lego offices where they had a tour and took part in some problem solving teamwork activities before arriving at the Rich Mix venue. It was here that they had to pitch their amazing app to a panel of 7 ‘Dragons Den’ judges and 250 business men and women! Myself, Mrs Wilson and Mr Medwell were then able to join the event to see the children talking to possible voters and hear the final results. I could not be more proud of our team who, after dazzling the dragons with their informative and heartfelt pitch were announced as the winners of their category! This was a wonderful opportunity and it was such a privilege to hear from so many industry professionals, teaching staff and parents how wonderful our fabulous five were – well done to you all! I for one cannot wait to see your app produced and launched with your professional guidance! – Miss J Redman
