Last week, Year 4 travelled back in time when they visited Ufton Court for their annual residential trip. They had a truly wonderful time trying their hand at traditional Saxon and Viking ways of living; from banqueting in traditional costumes (even eating with their hands!) and re-enacting a battle, to spinning their own wool, grinding flour and even building a fence, it was learning brought to life at its best! The children did Westfields proud, and made the most of every opportunity – it will certainly be a trip for us all to remember in years to come!
“It was the best experience in Year 4. You get the opportunity to bond more with your classmates.” Abbie
“We really thought we were Vikings, especially in the Battle and Banquet!” Tommy and Jake
“It was great because it helped me understand more about Saxons and Vikings and what life was like.” Scarlett
